Where to Shop for Plus Size Boxers

Haven’t you heard? We’re wearing plus size boxers and making whole outfits out of them. You may have seen the plus size boxer shorts trend all over Pinterest, like I did! But when I went to shop for them, they were so hard to find in my size. The fact that these boxers are cotton or linen makes it more practical to wear them outside and style them into the outfit, but that also means that they don’t stretch, and you can’t just buy any pair of boxer shorts and expect them to fit. But don’t worry! I’ve found the perfect plus size boxer shorts for women so you can get your Pinterest fit on, too!

If you love my outfit, you can shop it on my LTK where I upload plus size outfit inspo every single day!

Plus Size Boxers for Women

Blue Stripe Boxers

If you love the shorts I am wearing in these photos, you’re going to love these blue stripe boxers from Old Navy! These are originally pajama shorts, but I’ve worn them outside several times! I am wearing a size 3X, but I could have gone down to a 2X. The key to styling these to perfection is rolling them up! Othewrise, they may just look like jammies. And, because I am petite and plus size, these shorts are very long on meโ€”until I roll them!

Pink Stripe Boxers

Blue stripe shorts not your thing? Old Navy has pink boxer shorts too! These are very similar to the ones above, but they might look less like boxers and more like a pair of pull on shorts for summer.

J. Crew Boxers

If you’re looking for a more subtle option, these J. Crew boxers are simple and cute! They also come in navy!

Soft Boxers

For my minimalist queens who want a softer feel and less color, SKIMS may have you covered. I’ve never worn these boxers, but they look to be more of a jersey material. This means they may not give you that more rigid boxer look. These come in a variety of colors!

Orange Boxers

Kohl’s has some cute plus size boxers in a few different colors and patterns if you’re looking to stand out from those who may opt for a blue or striped boxer.

Contrast Boxer Shorts

Lane Bryant has cool boxer shorts for plus size women in a few different color options.

Anthropologie Boxers

These boxers are seriously elevated! Anthropology has some beautiful colors and styles of boxers that are also made in plus sizes.

I’ve worn these boxer shorts in so many different ways! You can see how I am styling them on my Instagram or TikTok! I hope you find a pair of boxers that you love wearing!

Whether you wear plus size shapewear with every outfit or are new to shapewear and trying to find which style and size works best for you, you’ve come to the right place! As a plus size woman, I have tried many different kinds of shapewear and found the best styles for us curvy girls.

I usually wear a size 18 or a 2X, and I would say that I have an hourglass shape, but I also carry the majority of my weight in my lower tummy and thighs. I like to wear shapewear because I have an apron belly. So, shapewear usually helps me feel more secure and supported, especially when I am wearing more curve-hugging clothing.

You can easily scroll through and shop my plus size shapewear recommendations on my Amazon Storefront!

Best plus size shapewearย

1. Plus size shapewear bodysuit

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop this bodysuit here

A plus size shapewear bodysuit is one of the most versatile kinds of shapewear you can have in your wardrobe. You can easily wear this style with almost any outfit. I love wearing this style with mini skirts or dresses that have a high slit, but it also looks great with jeans and pants. I love this bodysuit from Amazon! I am usually a size 18/20 or 2X, and the 3x – 4x fits me best. However, I also own the X Large – XX Large size for a more snatched fit.

2. Plus Size Shapewear Bodysuit with Shorts

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop this bodysuit here

This is hands-down my favorite kind of shapewear because I have larger thighs, and they rub together under dresses and skirts. So, the plus size shapewear bodysuit with shorts protects me from getting chub rub. I also feel very secure and supported in this style. This style may not be the best style to wear with short shorts, dresses, or skirts, but it’s great to wear under maxi dresses, skirts, and pants! If you’re worried about having to take it off every time you go to the bathroom, don’t stress too much about it! You can either take it off entirely, or there is a pee hole where you can squat over the toilet and go to the bathroom without removing the shapewear!

3. High Waist Shapewear Panties

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop these shapewear underwear here

I have been wearing these shapewear underwear with everything! I love that it comes up high enough, but not so high that I have to tuck it into my bra and then worry about them rolling down. The front of the underwear is more structured and offers support, whereas the back is a flexible mesh that doesn’t compress the booty! This underwear style hits me just above my belly button, and it stays up because it has some boning toward the top. This is a comfortable style I can wear with everything all day!

4. Shapewear Thong Underwear

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop these thongs here

If you’re looking for lighter compression and a comfortable pair of underwear? I love these shapewear thongs from Maidenform. If you’re not used to wearing a thong, these could take some getting used to, as the thong part is so thin and could cause irritation. I love wearing this particular thong and style of shapewear because you can easily adjust the front part of the underwear to support the areas where you need the most coverage.

5. Plus Size Shapewear Shorts

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop shapewear shorts here

I could live in these! Anytime I get to pair shapewear with shorts, it’s a win-win. While these plus size shapewear shorts don’t have a ton of compression, I love how comfortable they are, and I also love the targeted compression of the lower and mid-tummy area. These are also great for preventing chub rub.

6. Lace Shapewear Panties

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop plus size lace thongs here

Believe it or not, these plus size lace thongs were my introduction to shapewear. Although they may not look like your average piece of shapewear, the thick lace waistband on these thongs provides a lot of support and compression to the lower tummy area, which is where I need the additional coverage. If you need lower tummy coverage, try these!

7. Shapewear Camisole
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop plus size shapewear camisoles here

Looking for more support and compression up top? Plus size shapewear camisoles are comfortable and work as a top when you pair them with your favorite bottoms. I used to love wearing these camisoles, but sometimes, I found that they dug into my shoulders too much.

8. Open Bust Shapewear Camisoles
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop open bust camisole shapewear here

If you want more support and compression for your tummy and back but you want to wear your favorite bra, plus size open-bust camisole shapewear may be the best option for you! You can choose between different colors to ensure your straps match and different kinds of compression levels.

9. High-Waist Shapewear Shorts

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop these high-waist shapewear shorts here

When you’re wearing strapless tops or dresses, you may still want to wear shapewear, but camisoles won’t be the best option. Try high-waisted shapewear shorts that can be tucked into your bra. This style is a go-to for so many plus size women, but I find this style to roll down a lot, and it never stays tucked into my bra. I also find that the compression starts just above my lower tummy area, so I don’t get the support or coverage where I need it most.

10. Full Body Shapewear with Open Bust

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop full-body shapewear here

If you want full coverage but still want to wear your own bra, this full-body shapewear style will probably work best for you.

11. Plus Size High Waisted Shapewear Briefs
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop shapewear briefs hereย

If you’re looking for shapewear briefs that are a little smoother and maybe more comfortable than the very first pair I shared, you may like these!

12. Shapewear with Zipper

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop shapewear with a zipper here

Needing even more compression and support? Shapewear with a zipper can get you to that next level. Usually, the zipper helps to add even more compression, and on the inside of the zipper may also be hooks and clasps to improve compression.

13. Plus Size Shapewear Tights
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop plus size shapewear tights here

There are two different kinds of shapewear tights. The first kind above is shapewear that supports and compresses your lower half from your midsection to your calves. This style could be great if you want all-over support while wearing a maxi skirt, dress, or pants.

14. Plus Size Tights with Built-In Shapewearย

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop plus size tights with shapewear

The second kind of shapewear tights I alluded to above are tights that have built-in shapewear. You can wear these tights with skirts, dresses, and shorts. And while the legs of the tights are soft and flexible, the tummy and thigh portion have built-in compression that gives you additional support.

15. Shapewear for Arms
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop shapewear for arms here

Need more support and coverage for your arms? These garments give you more compression through the sleeves. You could wear this style with long-sleeved tops, sweaters, and sweatshirts. There are several different arm shapewear styles. So, I will share them below!

16. Open Bust Shapewear for Arms
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop open bust shapewear for the arms here

Similar to the style below, this garment gives you more support for your arms and allows you to wear your own bra with it!

17. Plus Size Shapewear Dress

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop this shapewear dress here

If you’re looking for shapewear in the form of a dress, I highly suggest this style. While you could easily wear a shapewear romper like the number 2 style in this list while wearing a form-fitting dress, you may prefer this style!

18. Plus Size Waist Trainer
Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop plus size waist trainers here

While waist trainers are not my favorite, I couldn’t leave this highly-popular shapewear option out of this blog post. I find waist trainers to be very uncomfortable and dangerous, and they also don’t look great under clothing. But if this is your jam, jam on!

19. Long Sleeve Shapewear Camisole

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares the best plus size shapewear for curvy girls, including a shapewear bodysuit

Shop long sleeve shapewear camisoles here

If you want more support for your arms but also want the comfort of a shapewear camisole, this top is going to be your new favorite piece of shapewear. You can wear this under your clothes or as a top!

I hope you found plus size shapewear that fits your needs and lifestyle!

Building an Affordable Plus Size Capsule Wardrobe

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares her tips for building a capsule wardrobe that's affordable for plus size women.
You’re probably reading this because you’ve been hearing the term “capsule wardrobe,” and you’re tired of searching through your closet each morning, wondering what to wear. Trust me, everyone struggles with finding an outfit to wear, but for plus size women, the struggle may be even harder. Not only is affordable plus size clothing far behind the options women sizes 00-12 have had for decades, but it can be hard to establish your staple wardrobe and have versatile options to mix and match for easy dressing when we haven’t had as many clothing choices as others. But don’t worry, there is hope! If you want to create a wardrobe that makes you feel confident and saves time and money, you’ll love reading this! In this blog post, I’ll guide you through building an affordable plus size capsule wardrobe that’s stylish, versatile, and perfectly tailored to your unique style and needs.

This post contains affiliate links, which I can earn a small commission on when you purchase items (at no extra cost to you). Learn more about affiliates here!

What’s a Plus Size Capsule Wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe is a carefully curated collection of versatile clothing items that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. Basically, a capsule wardrobe is filled with basic, staple clothing that can be mixed and matched and pairs well with everything. Think black wide-leg pants, a pair of jeans, neutral or black sweaters, and a beige trench coat. The idea behind a capsule wardrobe is to streamline your closet, making it easier to assemble stylish outfits while saving you money. Having a capsule wardrobe can be a game-changer for plus-size women because it will allow you to develop a foundational wardrobe that you can use to develop and build your personal style.ย

If you’re looking for plus size outfit inspiration, I upload my plus size outfits on my LTK page daily: See my plus size outfits here!

Where to shop for plus size basics

The key to building a capsule wardrobe that allows you to feel confident every day and get dressed quickly in various ways is sourcing the best plus size basics. Here are my favorite places to shop for basics that will make the perfect addition to your capsule wardrobe.

  1. Amazon: I love shopping for my basics at Amazon because the clothes always arrive fast, they fit well, and Amazon The Drop’s collections never disappoint! In fact, you could shop for your entire plus size capsule wardrobe on my Amazon Storefront!
  2. Abercrombie: While not the most size inclusive brand ever, Abercrombie has incredible basics. From petite and plus size jeans to cozy sweaters, you can find most pieces up to a size XXL.
  3. Pretty Little Thing: Further on in this blog post, I will mention that quality is key when shopping for your capsule wardrobe. However, you can certainly source some pieces from stores like Pretty Little Thing! I love getting trench coats and basic tops from Pretty Little Thing because the price is unmatched, and Iย  love the fit.
  4. Eloquii: If you know me, you know that I ride hard for Eloquii! I love shopping at Eloquii because their plus size clothing is always on sale, and the quality is amazing. While they do have statement pieces, they also have great styles that would make the perfect addition to any capsule wardrobe.
  5. J. Crew: If you’re ready to invest in high-quality pieces for your capsule, J. Crew is where it’s at. From stunning coats to timeless tops, skirts, and bottoms, J. Crew has it all.

Check out these plus size clothing brands if you’re looking for more places to shop!

Step 1: Plan your wardrobe

Before you start shopping, planning your plus-size capsule wardrobe is essential. Think about your personal style and the occasions you typically dress for. Are you a casual dresser, or do you need professional attire for work? I need outfits that I can wear to the office since I have a full-time corporate job. However, I also need outfits that are good for going out to dinner and traveling.ย  Figuring out the occasions you need to dress most for This will guide your choices and help you create a wardrobe that suits your lifestyle.

Also, consider your color palette. Opt for a mix of neutrals and a few statement pieces in your favorite colors. Neutral colors like black, navy, and gray can be the foundation of your wardrobe, while bold colors can add pops of personality.

Step 2: Assess your current closet

Go through your current wardrobe to identify key pieces that you can incorporate into your capsule wardrobe. These might include well-fitting jeans, classic blouses, or versatile dresses. This not only helps save money but also ensures that you’re building upon what you already have.

Step 3: Shop smart for versatile pieces

When shopping for new items, choose versatile, mix-and-match pieces that fit well and make you feel confident. Here’s a list of must-have items for your plus size capsule wardrobe:

  • Perfect-fit jeans: Invest in a comfortable pair of jeans that you can wear with various tops.
  • Little black dress: A classic LBD is a must for any wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down for any occasion.
  • Blouses and tops: Find a selection of blouses in different colors and styles to pair with your bottoms.
  • Outerwear: A well-fitted blazer, a cozy cardigan, and a stylish coat for different seasons.
  • Comfortable shoes: Opt for a few pairs of versatile shoes, like ankle boots, sneakers, and dressy flats.
  • Statement pieces: Add a couple of statement items that express your unique style. Think bold prints, vibrant colors, or eye-catching accessories.
  • Workout and lounge wear: Don’t forget comfy athleisure or loungewear for those casual days.

Step 4: Invest in quality

When it comes to your capsule wardrobe, quality matters. Invest in well-made, durable pieces that will last. Quality clothing not only feels better but often lasts longer, saving you money in the long run.

Step 5: Mix and match

The beauty of a capsule wardrobe is in its versatility. Experiment with different combinations to create fresh, stylish outfits. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns and textures โ€“ that’s part of the fun!

Step 6: Save money

I set up a capsule wardrobe category on my Amazon Storefront so that you can build your capsule wardrobe quickly and affordably. I have found so many staple wardrobe pieces on Amazon! My favorite collection to shop from for high-quality capsule wardrobe pieces is Amazon’s The Drop collection. The collection also designs limited-edition clothing lines with influencers where you can find more of those statement pieces to complement your capsule wardrobe.

I am so excited for you to build your capsule wardrobe! I know you’ll find it so much easier to get dressed every day and define your personal style.

NYFW Plus Size Outfits I Wore SS’24

I just got back from New York Fashion Week, and I can’t wait to show you the NYFW plus size outfits I rocked! Every look I styled felt so true to the different versions of myself that I always try to celebrate and highlight through clothing. All-in-all, this was definitely my favorite fashion week so far.

But let me be real; putting those looks together and participating in fashion week took a ton of time, effort, and self-assurance. Speaking from three years of NYFW experience, I want to offer some advice: NYFW can be pretty stressful and make you obsess over who you are and who you’re not in the fashion world. Trust me, it’s a rollercoaster of emotions for most people during fashion’s biggest week. So, whether you’re gearing up for your first NYFW or a seasoned attendee, understand that you may experience a lot of anxiety around this week, but once you’re in it, you’ll thrive! And that’s aside from being plus size at NYFWโ€”that’s a whole other conversation *eye roll*. Stay true to you!

If you’re shopping for NYFW and you’re wondering where to shop for plus size designer clothes, check out my roundup of plus size designers!

Now, let’s get into the outfits!

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares her NYFW plus size outfits SS'24 that she wore during New York Fashion Week.

NYFW plus size monochromatic outfit

One of the things I love doing the most with my outfitsโ€”whether I am going to work or attending New York Fashion Weekโ€”is pattern mixing or playing with contrast. So, I had all these amazing black and white prints and mixed them to create this cool outfit. I topped the look off with bold red sunnies and am wearing red boots, which you can shop on my Amazon Storefront!

You can shop this outfit on my LTK!

Plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City shares her NYFW plus size outfits SS'24 that she wore during New York Fashion Week.

NYFW plus size floral mesh outfit

I originally bought this plus size floral dress, and it had holes torn in the mesh, and the flowers were falling off. So, I hand-sewed the flowers back on and used fabric glue to manipulate the mesh back together. Ultimately, I felt like I was able to salvage the dress, but I brought a sewing kit with me just in case! I have had this lavender organza trench coat in my closet since 2019, and I felt like it was the perfect addition to this dress! I found a similar plus size organza trench coat for you to shop! I wore this outfit to the Carlos Pineda show and received tons of compliments.

You can shop this look through the links above or on my LTK. See more of this outfit on my Instagram!

NYFW plus size sequin outfit

During NYFW, Pinterest debuted its Body Type Technology, which helps to make its algorithm more diverse and reflective of the user. I participated in this project with Pinterest, so I attended an exclusive dinner and spoke on a panel during the event (learn more about Body Type Technology here)! I chose to wear this sequin maxi dress from Eloquii, which I rented from nuuly! I added this crop top from the Gabriella Karefa-Johnson X Target collab, and I love how it turned out.

You can shop this entire look on my LTK.

NYFW plus size black dress and red boots outfit

I loved this simple look because the coolest aspects of the outfit really are in the details.ย I rented this dress from nuuly, which has this really cool “undone” look with the ruching and long strings. I topped the look off with some bold sunglasses and bright red boots, and I felt so good in this outfit.

You can shop my accessories, including my wide calf red boots, on my LTK! Unfortunately, the dress is out of stock, but you can still rent it on nuuly!ย

NYFW plus size lace dress

I felt so beautiful in this deconstructed plus size lace dress that I wore to the Adore Me fashion show. I paired the outfit with these wide platforms from Torrid and topped the look off with a bag I couldn’t even fit my room key in. It was a vibe LOL.

You can shop my accessories on my LTK!

NYFW plus size pattern mixing outfit

Like I said, I love pattern mixing, and this outfit was such a fun look to create. This dress, which I turned into a duster/cardigan, is from Karen Brit Chick’s Amazon the Drop collection, and the pants are from The Coveteur’s Amazon the Drop collection. I am petite and plus size (5’2 and a size 20), and I didn’t get these pants hemmed, but I probably will because they are a little long.

You can shop this outfit on my Amazon Storefront!

I hope these outfits inspire you to create looks that make you feel fabulous every single dayโ€”not just when you go to NYFW! XO!

18 Plus Size Designer Clothing Brands to Shop

Luxury fashion isn’t just for one body type! Plus-size gals want in on the plus size designer clothes, too! I’ve spent most of my life bargain-hunting for affordable plus-size clothing, scouring the sales racks since I got my first job at 14. But recently, I decided to treat myself a little and invest in some high-end plus-size fashion. My mission? Scoring designer outfits that would turn heads at New York Fashion Week.

As I started my quest for plus size designer clothing, I quickly realized there weren’t as many options as I had hoped for. Finding designers who cater to plus sizes was like searching for a needle in a haystack, especially when compared to the abundance of choices for straight sizes (ranging from 00 to 12). Shockingly, plus-size clothing brands make up just a mere 19% of the entire fashion market. So, it’s no wonder that tracking down plus-size designer and luxury brands online can feel like a bit of a challenge.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though! I actually found some incredible luxury plus size brands for us to shop!

Does nuuly Have Plus Sizes? Here’s My Review!

Have you ever wished you could have six new pieces of clothing to wear every month for under $100? Well, now you can! I have been using nuuly, a clothing subscription and rental service, for a year now, and I must tell you all about it! Not only is renting clothes a great way to diversify your wardrobe without your closet exploding, but it’s also more environmentally friendly and sustainable than purchasing fast fashion. If you’ve heard about nuuly plus size clothing, but you’re not sure if a clothing subscription service is right for you, I will share my review of this nuuly plus size clothing rental service in this blog post!

This post contains affiliate links, which I can earn a small commission on when you purchase items (at no extra cost to you). Learn more about affiliates here!

plus size fashion blogger Natalie in the City wears a plus size outfit from nuuly while on vacation in Italy.
I rented this gorgeous top and these plus size shorts from nuuly!

What is nuuly?

My best friend originally told me about nuuly, which Anthropologie owns, and I am so glad she did. Nuuly is a clothing subscription service that allows you to rent a curated selection of clothing from various brands for a flat monthly fee. It’s like having an ever-rotating closet filled with the latest styles without the clutter or commitment of buying. However, if you fall in love with the clothing you rent, you can purchase it for a discount. It’s similar to products like Rent the Runway, but I find the selection of plus size clothing on nuuly to be much better than on Rent the Runway. Nuuly also has clothes for every occasionโ€”casual and formal. Most of its styles come directly from Anthropologie and other on-trend retailers. And there are new styles uploaded on the app daily!

Join nuuly and get $10 off your first month!

Does nuuly have plus sizes?

One of my favorite features of Nuuly is its dedication to inclusivity. Nuuly offers an impressive range of plus-size options. Whether you’re looking for everyday essentials or statement pieces for special occasions, Nuuly has you covered. Nuuly collaborates with various brands, including some of the most beloved names in fashion. This means you can access plus-size pieces from your favorite designers, ensuring you never compromise style or quality.

Another thing I love about nuuly’s plus size offering is that they collaborate with brands and designers that don’t typically make their clothing in extended sizing to offer plus sizes on nuuly. Recently, I rented this gorgeous plus size dress from nuuly, and it was made by Farm Rio, which doesn’t usually offer plus sizes. I ended up buying it because I know only a few were made, and it’s not only a gorgeous dress, but it also feels like a collector’s item.

My review of nuuly

If you couldn’t already tell, I have been loving and enjoying nuuly. I love that I get six new pieces of clothes every month to wear and style and once I am done, I send them back and nuuly handles all the laundry and dry cleaning. I also love wearing high-quality and unique plus size clothing that I wouldn’t normally be able to afford or have access to. Nuuly’s customer service is also top notch! My only critique of nuuly is that I wish it had even more plus size options. The app has over 15,000 options for standard-size clothing (from a size 0 to a size 18) but only 1,500 plus size options.

  • Good American: Good American is known for its inclusive sizing and body-positive approach. They offer a range of plus-size swimwear options, combining fashion-forward designs with comfortable fits to make you feel fabulous all summer long. 9 Places to Shop for Affordable Plus Size Clothing

where to buy affordable plus size clothing Natalie in the City wears an outfit from Ashley Stewart

Shopping for affordable plus size clothing can be a challenge, but I wrote this blog post to highlight some of my favorite plus size brands that offer plus size clothing at a decent price. For a lot of these plus size stores, you can shop both in-store and online.

Some of my favorite plus size stores to shop at like Eloquii, Able, and Fashion to Figure often have a higher price point (around $70-$200 per garment). However, they often have sales that range from 40% to 70% off, which brings the price point down a lot. So, while I highly recommend checking out these plus size brands below, I also urge you to make sure you check in with your favorite plus size brands to see when they may have a sale.

If you love shopping at a plus size brand that isn’t on this list, feel free to comment below so I can add it to this blog post. Also, you can follow my LTK page for new plus size clothing finds and outfit inspiration uploaded every single day!

Plus Size Work Outfit

Where to Buy Stylish Plus Size Work Clothes

I have always loved shopping for plus size work clothes to wear to the office, especially now! There are so many plus size brands that sell affordable, accessible, and trendy plus size office clothes. I currently hold many jobs that I have to get dressed forโ€”and they are all vastly different. I work full time in aviation, and I’m also a college educator, a freelance SEO copywriter, and an influencer. So, it’s safe to say that I am always thinking about work wardrobes. That’s why I am going to be sharing my favorite places to buy stylish plus size work clothes so that you can feel your best at work in outfits that make you feel confident and unstoppable.

I don’t know about you, but a lot of my confidence comes from my clothing choices. It shows if I am wearing an outfit I don’t loveโ€”my productivity levels are low, I don’t feel my best, and I may not be as social. There is nothing worse than sitting in an outfit that doesn’t spark joy all day counting down the hours until you can run home and change into sweatpants.

But don’t worry! You no longer have to have these days when you build a plus size work wardrobe from these plus size brands. If you’re looking for daily outfit inspiration, you can check out my blog’s plus size outfit of the day section or follow my LTK page for cute plus size looks uploaded daily!

I’m wearing Eloquii head-to-toe for this plus size work outfit.

Where to Buy Stylish Work Clothes

I have personally shopped at and tried most of the brands on this list. I will order them from the brands I love the most and have shopped to the brands I haven’t tried yet.

  • Eloquii: If you have followed me on Instagram or TikTok, you probably know how obsessed I am with Eloquii. Everything from their plus size blazers to their plus size wide-leg pants fits perfectly and is always fashion-forward. I know there can be some sticker shock for some shoppers, but I urge you to check out the sale they are running as they run at least 40%-60% off all items every day.
  • Torrid: I know the plus size community has a love-hate relationship with Torrid, but honestly, I love them. Torrid is my go-to for the most comfortable plus size workwear. Their studio collection is made with soft, but supportive Ponte material, which is so comfortable. I exclusively wear this collection when I travel because I have a non-rev dress code to abide by since I work for an airline.
  • Fashion to Figure: Fashion to Figure is another plus size brand that I love shopping at. When it comes to workwear, they have some gems. I would say shop here if you have a work dress code that is a little more chill than corporate.
  • Lane Bryant: One of my favorite places to get petite plus size dresses for work is at Lane Bryant! Aside from dresses, Lane Bryant has so many affordable and well-fitting plus size work clothes.
  • Target: To this day, I go to Target for all my fitted work pants. These plus size ankle pants are my favorite!
  • Universal Standard: I absolutely adore Universal Standard for work pieces. The clothes are high quality, and minimalist, and pair well with everything.
  • Cobalt Street / District: One of my favorite work dresses was purchased from Cobalt District. I absolutely love the qualityโ€”and they are a local, woman-owned Chicago business!
  • Amazon: Have you ever shopped Amazon’s The Drop collection? This collection is size inclusive and boasts so many great plus size clothes for the office. Amazon‘s The drop has staples for work, but it also comes out with limited-edition influencer clothing lines that include so many trendy and one-of-a-kind styles.
  • Able: If you want classic pieces that are well made, you’re going to love Able Clothing. They make pieces that are versatile and can pair well with everything.
  • Klassy Network: If you are looking for plus size tops for work that doesn’t require you to wear a bra, check out Klassy Network! I may sound wild talking about going braless at work, but after the pandemic, I vowed never to go back to bras. Klass Network’s Brami’s are tops with bras built in. There are so many styles that are work-appropriate.
  • Anthropologie: For the plus size boho chic ladies, Anthropologie is a great place to shop for plus size workwear. While Anthropologie may not seem corporate, there are unique pieces that will give any corporate look an edge.
  • Henning: Henning is where it’s at for all my luxury girlies. If you’re looking for high-quality and high-end workwear, look no further than Henning. I have had the privilege of having Henning on my body and it’s second to none.
  • 11 Honorรฉ: While we are talking about luxury, you may want to check out 11 Honorรฉ. If you want to invest in high-quality pants or statement blazers, this is where you should do it!
  • Ashley Stewart: I love Ashley Stewart for affordable plus size work clothes!
  • H&M: H&M has great plus size blazers that fit me so well, which can be hard to find!
  • Old Navy: I love getting work-appropriate jeans at Old Navy for casual Fridays!
  • Maree Pour Toi: Maree Pour Toi has been around for a few years, and I enjoy some of its pieces.
  • Madewell: Madewell has good plus size work staples, but I also love shopping there for more laid-back work looks.

What Every Plus Size Workwear Wardrobe Needs

If you are shopping for a new plus size work wardrobe, I’m jealous! This is an exciting time! While I love shopping for new wardrobes, I can admit that it can be exhausting to make sure you buy all the right pieces and stay within budget. So, with that being said, here are some of the pieces that I think are must-haves for every plus size working professional.

  • Fitted Tops: I find that I tuck a lot of my tops into high-waisted pants for work. So, I invested in fitted tops or bodysuits that are easy to pair with pants or high-waist skirts and don’t add bulk. I recommend Klassy Network or Amazon for staple tops like this! Make sure to get basic colors like beige, white, and black!
  • Wide Leg Pants: Wide leg pants look good and they also feel good. Keep a pair in your wardrobe for easy styling. Universal Standard and Eloquii are my go-to!
  • Skinny Ankle Pants: It’s always good to have a pair of fitted pants on hand. I love Target for these kinds of pants!
  • Blouses: Aside from fitted tops, fun and frilly blouses are always good to keep on hand. You can choose fun colors or patterns for these blouses.
  • Dresses: I love keeping my work wardrobe stocked with midi dresses, both long sleeve, and short sleeves.
  • Midi Skirts: I have a few pleated midi skirts in my closet that I love wearing to work. They are easy to pair with any kind of top!
  • Blazers: Blazers are a must-have for me. I top off almost all of my work outfits with a blazer. They give me an extra dose of confidence.

I hope you found this blog post helpful. Remember, dress for you and let your confidence lead!

My Custom Leather Backpack from Laudi Vidni

petite plus size fashion blogger and influencer Natalie in the City wears Eloquii and a Laudi Vidni backpack in Chicago.

I am so excited to introduce my custom-made leather backpackโ€”and this adorable plus size outfit from Eloquii. I was in need of a high-quality leather bag, and I couldn’t think of a better place to go to than Laudi Vidni where I could design my bag the way I want!

This post contains affiliate links, which I can earn a small commission on when you purchase items (at no extra cost to you). Learn more about affiliates here!

I recently made a huge career transition, which is so exciting! As I prepared to head into a new office and industry, one of my first thoughts was about what I would wear, of course. Aside from cute plus size work outfits, I also needed a reliable, high-quality bag or backpack to carry my stuff as I walk to the office every day. I wanted a bag that was sleek, high-quality, and durable. I also wanted to be able to put my own touches on it.

petite plus size fashion blogger and influencer Natalie in the City wears Eloquii and a Laudi Vidni backpack in Chicago.

Designing a custom-made backpack

Last summer, I custom-made a bright orange duffle bag with a red interior at Laudi Vidni. The bag turned out to be stunning. I will include a picture of me and my orange duffle below! Since I had such a great experience, I knew I wanted to create my backpack here, too.

Laudi Vidni’s website makes it very easy to custom make any kind of leather or vegan leather bag. The brand has various styles and bag types that are completely customizable down to the hardware and interior color of the bag.

I started with the Moto Large Backpack and chose the smooth grain black leather for the exterior of the bag, the straps, and the trim. For the inside, I wanted it to have a red interior like my duffle bag. I chose a gold finish for the hardware, which really gives the bag a luxe look. It took about two weeks for my bag to be made and it made it to me just in time for my first week in the new office. And as you can see, I absolutely love it!

Why I love shopping at Laudi Vidni

  • Individuality. I have been a fan of Laudi Vidni ever since I stopped at its store on Michigan Avenue years back. If you were to read the brand’s name backward, it spells “individual.” This branding is spot on because while Laudi Vidni has various pre-designed bags for you to shop, you have the opportunity to make each bag your own through customization. Each bag is unique, just like its creator!
  • Quality. Let’s talk about the quality because the craftsmanship of these bags is unmatched and truly perfect. This company prides itself on producing perfection, and it shows! The company even has a “You’ll Love it Guarantee,” which means if you don’t love your bag, they will refund you.
  • Woman-Owned.ย One of my favorite aspects of Laudi Vidni is its founders. Laura Kofoid and Grace Tsao-Wu created the company with the goal of building a more environmentally sustainable business model for custom-made bags. They wanted people to be able to get the bag they wanted rather than conforming to a commercially-driven ideal.
  • Earth-Conscious.ย Lastly, since every bag is made to order, Laudi Vidni never sends unsold bags to landfills.

If you can’t tell, I am absolutely thrilled with my custom-made leather backpack from Laudi Vidni!

240 Tutoring was created to help teachers pass their certification tests after the company’s founder realized how difficult it was for prospective teachers to study for and pass these exams.

More than 45% of aspiring educators donโ€™t pass certification or licensing exams on their first try. Depending on the test, aspiring educators may have to wait as long as 30 days to retake it if they fail the first attempt. There are also costs, waivers, applications, and other steps that come with having to retake failed exams. Given these obstacles, more than 20% of aspiring teachers never retake their certification exams. Iโ€™m not mentioning these stats to scare anyone, but itโ€™s safe to say that the stakes are high. Aspiring teachers deserve to feel supported throughout their testing journey.

To help bridge the gap, 240 Tutoring has created 250 study guides for 14 different test series to help teachers nationwide. I love that many of the company’s employees have worked in education or have been teachers, which means they have the experience and insight necessary to help teachers effectively. And I can personally attest to the kindness and attentiveness of the people working at 240 Tutoring. I have had the opportunity to meet most of the 240 Tutoring team, andย  I’ve seen how passionate they are about helping aspiring teachers.ย

How much does it cost?

An unlimited, all-access subscription costs $39.99 per month. Your study guide also comes with a practice test to help you better prepare for your actual exam. If you score a 90% or higher on your practice test but fail your exam, don’t worry! Through the 240 Tutoring Guarantee, you’re eligible for a money-back refund of up to two months of your subscription.

So, how did I learn about this company? Full disclosure: I am not a teacher. However, my boyfriend works for 240 Tutoring, and I have seen first-hand how impactful these study guides have been for aspiring teachers. I know many people who follow Natalie in the City are teachers or aspire to be educators. That’s why I wanted to shed some light on whether or not I think these teacher certification exams are worth it.

Is it worth it?

Are these study guides worth the monthly investment? I think so! Why? These study guides are proven to prepare educators for their exams. And the number of aspiring teachers failing their certification tests shows that study guides and resourcesโ€”like the materials 240 offersโ€”are much needed. As I mentioned earlier, aspiring educators deserve as much support as they can get throughout this process.

I also believe that investing in yourself is one of the most brilliant and worthy things you can do!ย
