I love sequins. And I love denim. But I never thought I would love them together. The dilemma was real when I saw these Sequin Patched Jeans from Eloquii. I loved them at first sight, However, I also had doubts about where I would wear them. They are just jeans—with a little bit of sequins—I could literally wear them anywhere. But it still took me a full two months of contemplating until I actually bought the jeans.

Since I’ve copped the jeans, I’ve worn them to work and around the city while running errands. They are super cute and casual and the sequins elevate them even further. If you look at the photo of these jeans on the Eloquii site, you’ll see that they fall right above the ankle of the model—who’s probably tall AF. Since I’m 5’2, I roll up the jeans to fit me properly (See SIZING INFO below for more fit details). For this look, I paired the denim with a black pleated peplum top, which is also from Eloquii (But here is a similar one since the original top is sold out: Pleated Peplum Tank). And I topped off the outfit with a white blazer. Fun story: I have had this blazer for almost five years, and it always escapes my monthly closet cleansings. It’s still going strong! Don’t you love a piece like that?

SIZING INFO: I’m wearing a size 14 in the Sequin Patched Jeans from Eloquii, which is one to two sizes smaller than my usual size. I had to size down quite a bit in these jeans because they do stretch and they were way too long. The size 14 fits me perfectly, though.

Did anyone catch this Sheer Romance Mesh Kimono on Fashion Nova Curve before it sold out the first time? (Or am I the only one stalking the Fashion Nova site? LOL) This kimono sold out almost as soon as it was posted, and I was heartbroken. But when they restored it, best believe I scored it!

There is just something so cool, yet weird, about this kimono. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I knew I had to have it. But now I have to figure out just where I can wear it. What do you think? I paired the kimono with this Bottle Service Mini Dress, which is also from Fashion Nova Curve. I wanted to keep the garment I wore under this kimono pretty simple, but still wanted it to shine on it’s own. I love the halter fit and the ruched detailing on the front. Both of these elements make the dress super flattering, which is critical since this kimono has so much volume. I usually stick to more form fitting pieces, which is why I balanced the embellished kimono with a bodycon dress.

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 2X in the Bottle Service Mini Dress, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly. I am wearing a size 3X in the the Sheer Romance Kimono, which is one size larger than my usual size, and it’s a little big. I sized up in the kimono to be safe because I wasn’t sure how the material would feel or fit. I would recommend ordering your actual size or sizing down one size!

Plus Size Pleated Midi Skirt

I sure do wear a lot of pleated midi skirts for the blog, but I rarely wear them in real life. Why? I have always felt like the fit and details were not very flattering on my curves. My hips don’t lie, so anytime a loose fabric with pleats hits my hips, it’s not the best look—in my opinion. When Eloquii dropped this Pleated Midi Skirt, I instantly loved it. I was crazy about the color, and I thought that it even looked amazing on some of my curvier friends. I tried it on myself and instantly gained the confidence to rock it. But have you ever tried on clothes in the store, and then put them on once you got home and they looked totally different? I think I’m experiencing that with this skirt. On the other hand, I look through these photos and think, “Maybe I’m just psyching myself out because these look cute!” I just can’t decide.

I paired the Pleated Midi Skirt in the color Sky Captain with Eloquii’s Bell Sleeve Sweater with Trim in White, which shouldn’t be too predictable seeing that I sported this exact outfit in all black once upon a time—HAH. I really love this bell sleeve sweater—if you can’t already tell. I own it in two colors! The sweater is perfect for the office or for a casual day out, and the bell sleeves and stripes set it apart from all of the other sweaters in my closet. Even though I am on the fence with the skirt, I think this is a pretty cute look! Thoughts?

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 16 in the Pleated Midi Skirt, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly. Since I am petite, I roll the skirt up sometimes to give it a shorter look. I am wearing an 18/20 in the Bell Sleeve Sweater with Trim, which is one size larger than my usual size, but I purposely sized up to get a looser fit!

You might recognize both of these pieces I’m sporting today as they have been featured on the blog recently! After we got a fresh snowfall, I felt like this was the perfect look for a glam evening out. I know you’re probably thinking, “Fresh snow and you are wearing a dress..?” Yeah, I totally understand your concern, but after it snows, its usually a little warmer over in my neck of the woods.

But I’m no weather woman, so let’s get to the outfit, shall we? You may remember this Ruffled Sleeve Plaid Just My Size Dress from my The Most Flattering Dresses For Your Curves post! I have always loved the way this dress hugs my curves, and I can wear it so many different places: The office, dinner plans, events, and more! I topped this dress off with my favorite Rebel Wilson X Angels Faux Fur Jacket to give this look an elegant and wintery vibe. You can barely see them, but I also added some glam earrings to the look, you can get a little peek at them in this post, too: Timeless Glam. I originally scored these earrings from Forever 21, but I will include some similar ones in the shop widget below! This outfit makes me feel glamorous and it’s also a pretty expensive looking outfit. The jacket is a little pricey at $198, but the dress is only $30!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a 2X in the Just My Size Dress, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly. I am wearing a 1X in the Rebel Wilson X Angels Faux Fur Jacket, which is one size smaller than my usual size, and it fits perfectly. I personally feel that everything from the Rebel Wilson X Angels line runs big, so I usually size down.

I’m really stepping outside of my comfort zone here. But when I saw the opportunity to try and style some cargo pants, I totally went for it. I used to hold myself back when it came to fashion and what I thought would look good on my body and what wouldn’t. A couple of years ago, I would have seen these pants and said, “HELL NO.” And maybe even a couple of months ago, I would have seen these photos and thought, “Ugh. Look at my tummy. These are DEFINITELY not getting published.” However, I am realizing that I have found a sense of comfort in discomfort when I step out of my self-imposed fashion boundaries—or maybe I’ve just stoped giving a f***. 🙂

Either way, I’m happy these gorgeous and fun Going on an Adventure Cargo Pants from Fashion Nova Curve. Sadly, the green ones have sold out, but they do come in a camel color, too. I will also include some cargo pants that are similar in the shop widget below, BUT ALSO: Check out these similar Cargo Pants: One & Two! I paired the cargo pants with what I thought was an unexpected choice, but this Arosa Tie Sleeve Sweater caught my eye, and I knew it had to go with this look. I topped the look off with some sexy, lace up heels, which I scored from Forever 21 two years ago and this beautiful Venus Bangle from Unbound. I recently discovered Unbound, and I am a huge proponent of the brand’s mission which is: to make sexual health and wellness a topic that women feel more comfortable and empowered talking about. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw me unbox this bracelet and a metal whip that ALO doubles as a necklace—SO exciting! If you are loving this Fashion Nova Curve look, you can use the code “NataliexCraig” for 15% off!

What do y’all think about this look? And how do you push yourself out of your comfort zone when it comes to fashion?

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 2X in the Going on an Adventure Cargo pants, which is my usual size, and they fit perfectly. The material does not stretch at all, but these pants do have a baggy fit. I found them to be perfect. I am wearing a size 2x in the Arosa Tie Sleeve Sweater, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly!

I took a chance. I found these plus size trousers stuffed between horrendous corduroy pants in the clearance section of Marshall’s (THESE Alfani Printed Palazzo Pants are a dead ringer). They were striped and had a loose and wide leg fit—they were like nothing I’ve ever worn or have ever wanted to. But something told me to try them on. I twirled around in the dressing room, and struck pose after pose wondering, “What kind of top would I wear with this?” You all know showing off my little tummy pouch has been an insecurity of mine since I can remember, but I couldn’t see myself wearing these pants with a shirt that wasn’t cropped or tucked in. They were only $20, so I ended up saying “Fuck it,” and bought the damn thing. And apparently striped plus size pants are ALL THE RAGE these days because I was able to find more than 30 pairs of striped pants that are similar to these. I included them in the shop widget below for you!

Now, fast forward to last week when I had a blogging event to attend and I thought these wide-leg, striped pants would make the perfect look. But again, I found myself wondering what shirt I would wear. I tucked in tank tops and T-shirts, threw on bralettes, and even played with the idea of wearing a cape. However, nothing seemed to work just right. I almost gave up on the pants until I remembered this Elbow Flounce Sleeve top from Eloquii. Although this blouse is one of my favorites, I never even thought about pairing it with these pants. As soon as I tucked the top in, I knew this look was the winner. And it was even a hit among you all! I got messages on Instagram as soon as I posted the full look asking about my pants and my bag! While I did shop the pants on clearance and I cannot find the exact ones in stock, I have included some just like mine in the shop widget below! You can learn more about this Circular Tote Bag here: XOXO or shop it below!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a 1X in these Zac & Rachel pants, which is one size smaller than my usual size, but they fit perfectly because they were made to be oversized. I am wearing an 18 in the elbow flounce top from Eloquii, which is one size larger than my usual size and it fits perfectly. I ordered one size larger because I wanted the top to fit looser.

When I unboxed this Plus Rose Vinyl Zip Detail Bodycon Skirt on my Instagram story, I wasn’t quite sure how the piece would look on my body. The vinyl seemed like it would fit better than a glove and that it might be unforgiving to my body. But I also couldn’t wait to try it on. A couple of months ago, I rocked this leather skirt, which sort of has that tight, latex fit.

I usually wear a plus size shapewear camisole everyday under my garments, and I knew I’d probably have to be snatched for the gods to rock this little skirt. However, I just went with my go-to cami, and I think it did the job. I paired this skirt from Pretty Little Thing with this Plus Black Slinky Long Sleeve Bodysuit and kept the rest pretty simple. I love when pieces have embellishments like the zippers on this skirt because I don’t have to work as hard to accessorize the rest of the look.

What are your thoughts? Would you wear a skirt that looks and feels like liquid latex?

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 16 in the vinyl zip skirt, which is my usual size, and the skirt fits perfectly. This material produces heat. So if you aren’t a fan of a little sweat or warmth, this may not be the piece for you! I am wearing a size 16 in the black bodysuit, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly!

Chicago Plus Size Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Eloquii's sweaters and the Victoria Beckham for Target Fuscia Twill Flared Trousers.

Remember when I first wore these Fuscia Twill Flared Trousers from the Victoria Beckham for Target line? It’s safe to say that they have only made a few public appearances since then. While I ADORE these trousers, they are far from my everyday attire, which is usually business casual—since I have a 9-to-5. However, I have worn these pants to the office, and while I got some stares, I felt bad ass! The line dropped one year ago, but these pants are classic, and I feel like they will always have a place in my closet and my heart! So with that being said, I’m making more of an effort to incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe!

The look is something that I would totally wear to work or to a networking or blogging event. I paired the Fuscia Twill Flared Trousers (The exact trousers I’m wearing are not available anymore, but I have linked similar ones in the shop widget below!) with Eloquii’s Marled Sweater With Sporty Stripe And Flounce (This blouse also comes in red!). I topped off the look with my brand new Circular Tote Bag, which my best friend Jennifer scored for me from Anthropologie. The red from the inside of the tote paired with the pink trousers gives me major Valentine’s Day feels and vibes, but I’m not mad at it! I’m feeling pretty smitten these days anyway. XO!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 18 in the Victoria Beckham for Target Fuscia Twill Flared Trousers, which is my usual size and they fit perfectly. However, I had to hem quite a bit to fit my short figure. I am wearing a size 18 in Eloquii’s Marled Sweater With Sporty Stripe And Flounce, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly!

It happens every year, red roses, giant teddy bears, and assortments of chocolates pop up at all of your favorite stores. And all of a sudden, you are starting to see more ads for jewelry companies than you ever have in your life. You’re either super hyped for this holiday, or you’re dreading it (is there even such a thing as an in-between feeling?) Yep, I’m talking about Valentine’s Day.

When I sat down to write this post, I began thinking about how little the holiday means to me now, as an adult. When I was younger, there was all this anticipation of finding out who your valentine would be and what they would surprise you with—or the opposite: Planning how you would spend the dreaded day without a valentine. However, upon reflection, I think the holiday actually has a greater meaning to me today than it has in the past. What a 180°…am I right?

Valentine’s Day falls under one of those holidays—like my birthday—where I feel like I can unapologetically indulge in myself—and sadly, that’s only two days out of the year. I’ve usually always had a valentine, but the holiday often has me in a constant shoulder shrug.

So, I’ve decided to turn up the heat this Valentine’s day—SOLO. One of my self-love routines includes dressing up in this Parfait Lingerie Marion Hipster Panty and Unlined Wire Bra in Tango Red when I’m home for no reason other than to feel like a goddess (scroll down). And some days, I’ll slip on a sexy bra or panties under my outfit for a confidence boost. My go-to power moves set is the Marion Hipster Panty and Contour Padded Bra in Lapis Blue. You’d be surprised at how wearing sexy lingerie under your everyday outfit gives you an edge and instant confidence surge. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself!

I was first introduced to Parfait lingerie in November, and I have since fallen in love with the brand because of its inclusivity and sexy styles. Dedicated to fit and innovative styling, Parfait collections are designed in both fit and silhouette to elegantly embrace and enhance the body, from petite to full figure. Styles range from bra and brief sets to babydolls, available in sizing from 30-44 bands, A-K cups, and XS-4XL bottoms. I’m proud to be a part of their most recent campaign, showcasing diversity and promoting feeling sexy in any body!

JOIN ME IN SHOWING YOUR BODY SOME LOVE THIS VALENTINE’S DAY! You could win a trip to The Curvy Con in NYC while doing so! One lucky winner will receive (2) tickets to The Curvy Con 2018 and a $500 value towards travel. SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 42 C in both the Marion Unlined Wire Bra and the Contour Padded Bra, which is my usual size, and they fit perfectly. If you like your bras to have a little bit of a looser fit, I would suggest sizing one or two sizes up on the band size. I am wearing a 2x in both of the Marion Hipster Panties, which is my usual size, and they fit perfectly. Again, if you like a looser fit, I would suggest sizing up one size.

It’s that time! Swimwear season has officially begun! You are probably thinking to yourself, “Oh brother, it’s negative 5° outside, and the last thing I can even imagine is slipping out of my parka into a two piece bikini.” But do you have plans for spring break? Going anywhere fun/warm…? (Can I come? LOL) Or maybe you have made it a mission to strut your stuff on the beach in style this year, like me?

Swimwear style is not a game, and plus size and curvy babes did not come to play! Every year, I see more and more women embracing their body, and slaying the sexiest swimwear looks. And they are giving me LIFE! So I thought I’d get the swimwear conversation started by showing off my favorite swimsuit for 2018! I’m sporting the Captured One Piece from Becca ETC. If you love the style I am currently wearing, check out the Color Play One Piece, which is very similar, but boasts a halter style top. I’ve been obsessed with this brand for a couple of years because their boho-chic aesthetic gives me major tropical getaway vibes. The brand creates styles for all body types, but their ETC line focuses specifically on plus sizes. This season’s swimwear has me all heart eyes. The line includes off-the-shoulder tops and ruched bottoms, balanced with crochet one pieces and sexy cut-outs.  I’ve included my all-time favorite Becca ETC swimsuits for you to browse in the shop widget below!
SIZING INFO: I am wearing a 2x in the Captured One Piece swimsuit, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly! For my bustier women, don’t worry about the gals! This swimsuit is plenty roomy up top!

Cozied Up

Time to get cozy! Well, sort of. (I guess I am wearing heels, which isn’t totally “cozy.” Oh well.) I got a cute little package from Rebel Wilson X Angels just before the New Year. And inside that box was this cute little outfit! I recently featured a Rebel Wilson X Angels look, which I got in my Dia & Co. box at the end of December, and it was a huge hit with y’all!

But now, onto this look! I feel like this outfit is a little reminiscent of this Fashion Nova look from a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it’s the plus size pearl jeans! I’ve been really into pearls on denim lately, and I’m happy to report that I have two pairs of jeans that fit into this trend. They are just so gorgeous and versatile. I can wear these to the office with a cute blouse or to brunch! The Studded Cold Shoulder top I am wearing is also from the Rebel Wilson X Angels line. I needed something to top off this look, so at the last minute, my fabulous photographer Rorie Raimondi loaned me her adorable beanie!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a 2x in both the Pearl Jeans and the Studded Cold Shoulder top, which is my usual size. However, I feel like the clothing from the Rebel Wilson X Angels line runs one size larger than the actual size. I like the fit of the top and these jeans, though.

Timeless Glam

The holidays are far behind us, but I’m still crushing on this Burgundy velvet romper. Sure, the color and the fabric scream “Christmas,” but I love the elegance that this garment brings with it—and elegance is something you can wear all year round.

I wasn’t quite sure how I would feel about the puff sleeves on this Rhett Velvet Romper from Fashion Nova Curve, but I really love them and the way they fall on my arm. I’ve talked about my love/hate relationship with rompers on my blog before, and I think I still walk that line, but this romper is definitely on my love list. This piece is flattering and form-fitting, which is why it gets my stamp of approval.

If you love this look, you could score 15% off your next Fashion Nova purchase with the code “NataliexCraig”!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 2x in the Rhett Velvet Romper, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly! If you’ve got thick thighs, like me, you may find that this velvet romper rides up a lot in the front and back as you walk. I wear nude tights to mitigate this little fashion mishap.
