I love the thick, sweater material of this Elle checkered drop-waist sweater skirt, and you can’t beat the simple design that creates a statement. The drop-waist is perfect for curvy hips like mine. Usually when a garment flairs out right at the waist, it makes my hips look unproportionately wide.
I do not usually pair boots with skirts or dresses, but recently I have been trying to create outfits combining them both. These black boots from Woman Within are the same style as the tan boots in my “Little Black Dress” post. I am a bit obsessed with the slouchy look right now—as you can tell.
A while back, I promised one of my readers that I would write a hair tutorial post detailing the way I style my hair, but, as you can see, that has not happened, yet. So, I figured I would give everyone a little insight into how I got my hair to look amazing for this shoot. I used a 1 1/2 inch curling iron barrel and then brushed my curls after I was done styling. Lastly, I smoothed out the curls with Organix Argan Oil of Morocco. Sure, living in the “windy” city also helped take this hairstyle to new volumes.
