Anthropologie Plus Size Jeans Review

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Anthropologie's jeans and denim.

This is such a cool moment for me. I never ever thought that I would be able to shop with my friends (who are thin) at Anthropologie. We used to spend entire Saturdays in the store shopping and lounging—in the Chicago Avenue store’s home section. While my friends would shop, I would just tag along because at the time, Anthropologie didn’t carry plus sizes. However, as you may know, Anthro has expanded its sizing.

Not only am I excited that I can now shop with my friends when we go into Anthropologie, but I am also looking forward to expanding my style with the brand’s eclectic mix of bohemian chic garments.

My first Anthropologie look makes me so happy because everything about this outfit is a step outside of my comfort zone. Recently, I have been embracing trends and styles that I previously wouldn’t have because I was so close-minded when it came to fashion. But now, I am also willingly trying clothing that I used to deem “unflattering.” All of my previous style rules have been pushed to the side, which has allowed me to enjoy fashion on an entirely different level. And this outfit is the perfect example of my style evolution.

Let’s start with the pants. These are boyfriend jeans, and up until recently, jeans that didn’t hug my curves and were loose-fitting were a no for me. But lately, I have been playing with proportions and wearing what I feel good in—regardless of what that looks like. I love the embellishments on these Pilcro High-Rise Embellished Slim Straight Jeans. I rolled them up once for an ankle fit because they were a little long on my 5’2 frame. I paired the jeans with the Martina Textured Blouse and I topped the look off with Jamie Lace-Up Heels and this Marguerite Trimmed Rancher Hat.

See the outfit in action on my Instagram: Pants that make me dance!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 18 in both the Martina Textured Blouse and Pilcro High-Rise Embellished Slim Straight Jeans, which is my usual size, and they both fit pretty well. The jeans were a little tight, but they ended up fitting after wearing them for a while.

Plus Size Neon Slip Skirt

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Eloquii's satin midi slip skirt.

When I posted half of this look on Instagram the day before Valentine’s Day, everyone went nuts over the sweater. So even though Valentine’s Day has passed, I’d like to share this outfit with you all!

I came across this sweater At Gordmans, I wasn’t looking for something like this, but it caught my eye and I had to have it. I didn’t what I was going to wear it with. It was just too cute to pass up so I figured I’d find something to wear with it whether it be jeans, leggings, or this slip skirt.

The sweater had been sitting in my closet for a month, and I hadn’t found anything to wear it with. I got this plus size satin midi skirt from Eloquii, but I never considered it to be a match for this sweater. However, there was one morning—the day before Valentine’s Day—when I woke up wanting to wear the sweater so bad, and I was determined to find a match for it. Now, keep in mind that I wake up at 5 AM to go to work—so it’s completely dark in my apartment other than my lights that are on, which aren’t that great. It just so happened that I had just unboxed this Eloquii skirt and it was laying on the couch. I looked at the skirt and then in the mirror and thought I saw neon green dots on the sweater that matched the skirt. Well, I would later learn—once I got into fluorescent lighting—that the green neon dots were actually yellow. Can you guys tell from looking at the pictures that the yellow and the green are different? It wasn’t the biggest difference, but the colors really didn’t go together.

This look ended up being a super cute one that I hope to wear again. I absolutely adore the sweater and the skirt, and I can’t wait till gets warmer so I can wear the skirt every day. I never thought that I would be a fan of the slip skirt, but it became so popular and I just couldn’t avoid it. Since I first wore this plus size leopard print slip skirt from Common Assembly, I’ve been pretty hooked.

SIZING INFO: I am wearing an XL in the sweater, which is one size down from my usual size, and the sweater still fits perfectly. I am wearing a 18 in the plus size satin midi skirt, which is my usual size, and the skirt fits perfectly.

Plus Size Faux Leather Joggers

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger]Natalie in the City reviews Eloquii's Pleat Front Faux Leather Ankle Pants and White Cropped Sweater.
Breaking news: there is none. I found another pair of plus size faux leather pants to satisfy my craving for the sleek-looking material.

The unexpected part of this situation is that this style is a bit different than the other looks I have created with faux leather. When I think about wearing this material, I usually envision a curve-hugging, skin-tight look. But when I spotted these plus size Pleat Front Faux Leather Ankle Pants at Eloquii, I got the inspiration for a more relaxed outfit. I had also been eyeing this plus size White Cropped Sweater from the brand as well, and I figured I would mix edgy with cozy to create one of my favorite outfits in my closet right now. I have worn this outfit to the movies with my man and also to work, and I think the look fit in perfectly in both occasions. You all know how much I love versatility! I am already thinking about what other things I can style these pieces with. For the pants, I really want to pair them with a tank crop top because I think mixing the looseness of the pants with the structure of a crop top will really compliment my figure. I have already worn the sweater several times with jeans, and I love that the sweater is already cropped so I don’t have to figure how to tuck in something so bulky.
SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 18 in both the plus size Pleat Front Faux Leather Ankle Pants and plus size White Cropped Sweater, which is my usual size, and both garments fit perfectly!

Plus Size Swimsuits I Wore in Costa Rica

I just got back from a tropical vacation in Costa Rica, and if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already got a sneak peek at the swimsuits and outfits I wore. Trust me, my vacation was much needed as I have been working my butt off non stop since October. It’s been a crazy couple of months. Taking a week off from life is hard for me because I am always so plugged in to everything I am doing, and I have so many responsibilities to take care of. So, while vacation was nice, I am so glad to be back home and on my regular schedule. But dressing for temperatures in the ’90s got me super excited for spring and summer. So I put together a little list of everything I wore in Costa Rica, from swimsuits to full-on looks! Also: if you are booking a trip to Costa Rica anytime soon, I included my recommendations at the end of this post!

Bronzed Babe
I have sooooo many swimsuits, but when I booked this trip, I knew I had to find something special that would pull me out of the depths of winter and propel me into feeling like a glowy, summer goddess. I found this plus size Aerie Shine Bikini set (featuring the Long-Line Triangle Bikini Top and Banded Bikini Bottoms) and I knew it was perfect for Costa Rica. Sure enough, the bikini didn’t disappoint. I wore it to the beach, the pool, and everything in between. I even got the matching Bandeau Bikini Top for some versatility. I will say that both of the tops fit me very well. I usually wear a 42C and a 2X in tops, and I ordered the XXL in both of these tops. The bottoms also fit me very well, and they were more of a cheeky fit, which I love. However, they weren’t the best while I was wave surfing or trying to basket toss my friends—we watched Netflix’s Cheer documentary during the flight there so we were feeling inspired….don’t judge. The bikini bottoms would always roll down below my lower tummy if I was doing any kind of physical activity. It’s not ideal, but I would rather wear lower-rise bikini bottoms than high-waisted ones. Just not my style! All-in-all, I felt beautiful in this set!

Golden Girl
I also stumbled upon this Aerie Shine Strappy Back One Piece swimsuit when I found my bronze bikini. I have always dreamt of having a plus size metallic bikini or one piece, so I knew it was my time to shine–literally. I loved this one piece, but I will say that it’s not the most *flattering* suit if that is a characteristic you want your suit to have. For me, personally, I never aim for “flattering.” Instead, I aim to dress in things that make me feel good and confident, which isn’t always flattering. This swimsuit, because of the skin tight material and light, shiny color, shows every bump, line, and curve. I rocked it confidently to the pool, and loved every second of it. It’s truly a stunner! I ordered a XXL, which was a perfect fit for me! The suit was very stretchy!

Highlighter at Sea
While the shiny swimsuits were super sexy, I knew I needed at least one extremely functional, practical swimsuit for any adventures. When I found out we were going on a boat excursion and snorkeling, I knew this lace up swimsuit from Torrid was going to be the perfect suit for the occasion. This plus size swimsuit was made for curves, and you could tell. The way it contoured my curves and provided support was incredible. I felt secure and sexy in it all day throughout all of my adventures. I am wearing a size 2, which is my usual size, and the fit was spot on! OMG this swimsuit looks so good in photos, too. CHECK IT OUT

Double Duty Cover Up
I don’t think the Metallic Bianca Top and Pants from Premme was designed to be a swimsuit cover up, but seeing as it is see through, it was the perfect look to throw on over a swimsuit. Before I dive in, let’s pour one out for Premme. The clothing brand—started by Nicolette Mason and Gabi Gregg—is severely missed. But I am so so happy I snagged this set, and I will hold onto it forever. Personally, I have a feeling that we haven’t seen the last of Premme, and I am holding out for the day when they come back. But anyways, any chance I get to wear this outfit, I will. It’s extra AF, and everyone looks at me when I sport it and I love every second of it. I feel like a true plus size princess in Premme. I am wearing a size 2 in this set, and it fits perfectly!

Go With the Flow
Don’t let the photos fool you, I spent most of my time fresh-faced with beach hair. But the second I got to throw on some tinted moisturizer and a cute outfit, I turned to this Torrid Black Challis Off Shoulder & Ruffle Skirt Set. The skirt was so beautiful as it moved with my body and the breeze brought it to life. I am tucking this outfit away for safe keeping until the summer rolls around. Seriously, this look was my favorite of the whole trip! I am wearing the size 2, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly!

In case you’re wondering/booking a trip to Costa Rica, this is what I did:
– I spent A LOT of time on the beach (Playa Ocotal, Flamingo, and Coco)
– We stayed in Guanacaste, Costa Rica (the west side, which is known for it’s desert-tropical climate)
– We rented an Airbnb in Azul Paraiso, which is at the top of a huge hill in Playa Ocotal. It was so nice!
– I highly recommend Cost Rica Sailing with Panache Sailing. Their snorkeling excursion was so fun.
– We had an adventure packed day hiking up the Rincón de la Vieja volcano, as well as white water tubing and horse back riding.

Here are some fun photos from my trip! All of these photos below were taken by my friend Ben Rifken. He is an insanely talented photographer and videographer in Lisbon, Portugal. If you ever need an artist in that area, he’s your guy!

Plus Size Mini Ruffle Dress

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Eloquii's Flounce Hem Sweatshirt Dress.
Whenever I find a plus size mini dress, I’ll buy it. While these dresses usually don’t fit me like a mini—because I am so short—I still love the way they look on my curves. They always end up coming down to the perfect length for every occasion—even for work. Plus size midi dresses are usually too long and look awkward on my body, which is the main reason I have found so much success with mini dresses.

My latest find is this Flounce Hem Sweatshirt Dress from Eloquii. The dress is so cute, and I love everything from the ruffles at the bottom to the puff sleeves. I’ve never seen anything like it. However, I feel like this may be an instance where I see clothing on a thinner model—who has a completely different body type than me—and I think the clothes will look the exact same on me so I order them. Does this happen to anyone else? Like I can totally look past the fact that the model is 6’1 and has no visible belly line, and convince myself that the clothes will look just like that on me. But as I am sure you can imagine, the clothes never look like they do on the model when I put them on. It can be a bit disappointing, but it’s not like the clothes look bad, they just look different. I really love this dress and the way it looks on MY curves. However, seeing as the dress is advertised as being made of sweatshirt material, I was a little disappointed that the material was so thin, almost more like a t-shirt. But other than that, I am really proud to have this piece in my closet.
SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 18 Flounce Hem Sweatshirt Dress from Eloquii, which is my usual size, and the dress fits perfectly. It’s very stretchy.

Elomi Plus Size Lingerie Review

One of the qualities that I admire most about myself is that I am always challenging myself. Whether that means diving deeper into learning about myself or conquering the goals I set, I am always looking forward. So when I heard about Elomi Lingerie’s Live Limitless Challenge, I couldn’t resist entering!

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City, tries Elomi Lingerie's Live Limitless Challenge.
Before the Live Limitless Challenge, I had never heard of Elomi. So I decided to go to Nordstrom and get fitted for an Elomi bra. I met with a fit specialist who knew a ton about the brand, and she took my measurements. I have been wearing a C-cup for years now because I thought that was my size, but after we got through with measurements, the specialist told me that I was actually an F-cup. I couldn’t believe it, but at the same time, it all started making sense when I started thinking about the irritation and pain I experience when wearing bras—I was wearing bras that were way too small and didn’t fit me well. One of the Live Limitless Challenges is to go for an Elomi Bra Fitting, so if you complete this challenge, be sure to share all about it on Instagram! More about the challenge here: Live Limitless Challenge 22.

One of the challenges that spoke to my soul was Challenge 6: Blast Your Motivational Anthem.Every morning, I try to consistently recite positive affirmations that I set the night before to help put my day and mindset on the right path. These positive affirmations vary from day to day, but they usually remind me of my goals and the mindset that I want to be in. What doesn’t vary are the affirmations about my body—those are on the list every morning. Some days when I read these affirmations, I challenge myself to go deeper. I put on an outfit or lingerie like Elomi Lingerie’s Sadie set, and look at myself in the mirror while reciting the affirmations I’ve written. And that is my motivational anthem.

Another way I channel and build confidence is in the gym. But it’s not the workout that pumps me up, it’s more so the actual challenge of going to the gym when you fear being judged harshly that makes me proud. I spotted Elomi’s Live Limitless Challenge 15: Say “No” to Workout Intimidation, and I decided to share how I beat workout blues. Whether I’m at the gym or in a yoga class, I fear of being judged when I workout because of my size. But when I saw that my body didn’t ever hold me back from completing every class, workout, or sport that I did, I truly gained confidence in these situations. But I have my off days, and I know that the gym is not a place for *faasshhhuuunnn,* however, what I am wearing is a direct correlation to how confident I’m feeling. So I make sure my gym looks make me feel bad ass, and I also make sure that my sports bra is the most supportive thing in my life. For this challenge, I wore Elomi’s Energise Sports Bra, which I loved.

This next challenge was a little unexpected, but when I saw it, I felt like it was made for me.This year was a bucket list year for me, I went to Paris, NYFW, and I reached huge milestones in my career. While there was a lot of hard work and manifesting that played a role in my successes, there was something else contributing to my skyrocketing confidence: a solid outfit and bold undergarments. Elomi’s Sachi set has been behind my most confident moments because when I look good, I feel good. I know many of you feel that way, too! The Sachi Bra and Brief offer me so much support and make me feel radiant, and it translates to the way I carry myself every day. While I’m so proud of everything I’ve accomplished this year, I’ve got even more goals I want to reach by the end of 2019. That’s why I’m entered Elomi Lingerie’s #LiveLimitless Challenge 13: Setting Career Goals. I have so many more goals I want to accomplish, so this challenge got me so excited for this new year!

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City, tries Elomi Lingerie's Live Limitless Challenge.

And that bings me to the last challenge. When was the last time you gave love a chance? For a long time, my idea of “love” was always out of reach because I let people make me think that I didn’t deserve the love I craved because of my body. When I began the journey of learning to love every part of me (still on that journey btw), that’s when I unlocked the greatest love of all: the one who comes from within. When I learned to love myself, I only allowed people who had the same level of love to offer me that I offered myself. A lot of times we look for love and validation in others before looking for it within ourselves. And that’s why I’m entering Elomi Lingerie’s #LiveLimitless Challenge with #LLChallenge14: Give Love a Chance because every woman should take the opportunity to learn her depths and what sets her soul on fire.

I had so much fun completing these challenges and discovering some gorgeous lingerie in the process!

Plus Size Striped Dress

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City styles Torrid's flattering Black & White Stripe Sweater-Knit Skater Dress.

I saw this Black & White Stripe Sweater-Knit Skater Dress on blogger, author, and activist Leah Vernon as she twirled in it on her Instagram stories. I immediately DM’ed her to ask her where it was from. This was back in fall, and she mentioned that she was on set with Torrid shooting a campaign, and that the unreleased dress was from them.

You can imagine the days I spent refreshing the brands “new arrival” page with the hopes of this dress magically appearing. I had no luck for a long time. Until their holiday campaign launched. I saw a mini skirt with this striped look on Instagram, and bolted to Torrid’s website. I was about to order it until I realized that it wasn’t what I had seen on Leah. She was wearing a dress…not a skirt. So I waited.

What’s the saying? “Good things come to those who wait.” Well, I got the dress (obviously)! Even though it’s way too cold to wear right now in Chicago, I found a way! I slipped on this Black Turtleneck Long Sleeve under the dress, which also made the garment perfect for work. I love the way it looks with the turtleneck, but I also can’t wait to sport it on its own. The dress totally lived up to every expectation I had of it. I love the unique striped pattern and how it complements my curves. The dress also falls at a perfect length for me—not being too long or short. The fit is also extremely flattering. The material stretches, but the waist is fitted to accentuate curves. Oh… I just love this dress so much. It will be a favorite of mine for the next couple of years!

Finding Staple Wardrobe Pieces at Gordmans

If you were to take a look at my closet, you wouldn’t even be able to guess what style I primarily lean toward or if I have a favorite color. That’s because I get new clothes almost on a daily basis, and one article never looks like another. I love embracing trends and discovering new styles for curves, but that usually means that I have so many pieces of clothing in my wardrobe that don’t pair well and go out of season quickly. After purging my closet once a month—yes, once a month—and color-coding it, I have decided to hold myself to a challenge for 2020—or as most would say, *a New Years Resolution*: Buy fewer statement pieces and more classic, staple clothing.

But does this mean that I stop shopping and indulging in statement clothing that makes me feel inspired? No! It just means that I have to shop smarter. Enter Gordmans, my favorite off-price retailer. Not only does Gordmans buy excess inventory from my favorite brands and designers to offer me a huge discount, but they are also always looking out for us curvy girls. When I shop at Gordmans, I walk in feeling confident that I am going to get the best deal and walk out with on-trend styles I’ve been craving.

So, I decided to put my love for Gordmans to the test to see if I could find a classic, staple outfit that could work for a variety of different outfits and styles so that I could also buy just a few statement pieces to create endless looks. Let’s see how I did! Also: I am giving you the chance to win a $100 gift card to Gordmans at the end of this post, so stay tuned!

The Basics
I have been looking for a really comfortable pair of true black jeans, and when I set my sights on these YMI skinny jeans, I was in love. They were so soft to the touch, and sure enough, when I tried them on, they instantly became my new favorite pair of jeans. I also found this tank top with a zipper accent, which I could wear all day every day with anything—exactly what I was looking for! I determined that this was going to be my staple look. It’s black, classic, and comfortable, which checks off every box I had when it came to finding classic clothing.

I got this entire outfit for less than $25, which left me some extra cash to spend on statement pieces. Having an outfit like this that I can plop into any look makes me feel better about spending money on items that may not go with everything, but will certainly pair well with black.

A Pop of Color
This cardigan caught my eye as soon as I walked into Gordmans. I instantly told myself, “No, we are here for staple clothes only!” This cardigan was the opposite of classic. However, it was only $16, and if I found a staple look like the one above, this cardigan could pair well with that and other monochromatic looks that I plan out. So I decided to indulge in this statement piece. It’s so comfortable, and the color brings a smile to my face and livens up any outfit I wear it with. I wore this outfit to the office one week, and everyone complimented me!

On-Trend Now: The Teddy Coat
One of the trends that I have really been wanting to try is the teddy coat. These cozy jackets are so cute, but I fear that they won’t be around for much longer. So when I found this gorgeous cropped teddy coat for only $24, I had zero regrets buying it. And, I knew it would go perfectly with the staple look that I had created!

Can Prints be a Staple?
This is a question I have been pondering for a while because of how prevalent leopard is. I have been wanting to incorporate more of it into my wardrobe, but I am trying to contemplate whether or not it will be a staple or a fad. One rule that I think I can live by when it comes to embracing this trend is to find a pattern that has a modern take on the trend and that is neutral, like this sweater. The print is updated and it will go with anything in my closet. Therefore, I didn’t feel excessive when I bought this because I knew that it was versatile, and even if it became a fad in a couple of months, I loved it.

A Shift in Style

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Eloquii's pleated hem top and relaxed two-tone mom jeans.

I am seriously going through a style transformation, and it feels like the biggest change I have ever gone through in terms of my wardrobe. I’m so excited and constantly surprised by this evolution because it’s allowed me to step outside of monochromatic, all black everything, skin-tight comfort zones. I’m embracing more color, different fits, new fabrics, and more. I’m constantly pushing my own boundaries, and this outfit is a perfect example of my growth!

Let’s start with Eloquii’s Pleated Hem Top. Typically, I would have been like, “Do you have it in black?” But this time around, I saw the orange—I have nothing of the sort in my closet—and accepted the challenge. Of course, I loved the refreshing hue, as well as the peplum and pleated details. I thought these plus size Relaxed Two-Tone Jeans would make the perfect, casual addition to the top. The frayed, boot cut had me on the fence, though. I ONLY wear pants or jeans that hug every curve just right. I steer clear from anything too baggy or boxy, and I’ve done that because I always wanted clothing to be “flattering” on my body. I realize that’s true for so many plus size women, and that’s fine and totally natural. But as I dive into the depths of loving my body the way it is, I’ve been wanting to challenge the rules of plus size fashion that I constructed in my mind long ago. Because the fit of these pants is a relatively new style for me, I had no idea what kind of shoes I should wear. So I did my research and found that a lot of models were wearing these pants with ankle boots. While I’m probably a foot shorter than most models… and about four sizes larger, the boots weren’t my favorite with these pants as it just didn’t look as seamless on me as it did on the models. So, I’m still looking for a way to wear these pants. Suggestions are welcome!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 16 in the plus size Relaxed Two-Tone Jeans, which is one size smaller than my usual size, and these pants fit pretty well. I always size down in Eloquii pants just because they tend to run large on me. These jeans were very stretchy, and they have more of a relaxed fit. I am wearing a size 18 in the Eloquii’s Pleated Hem Top,  which is my usual size, and the top fits well. The only minor issue I have with it is that the sleeves can be a little snug depending on what I’m doing with my arms. You could totally size up!

Sweater and Jeans Kind of Day

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Chic Soul's comfortable jeans and sweaters.

In the winter, you will most likely catch me in a sweater and some jeans. It’s an easy go-to look that’s comfortable and adaptable.

When I wear these casual looks, I try to style garments that have extra special detail. For example, I love the see-through mesh stripes in this When the Smoke Clears Top from Chic Soul. It gives the outfit some depth, and I love anything that shows a little bit of skin. One thing I am not crazy about when it comes to this sweater is the shorter front and the longer back. I wouldn’t say it’s a hi-lo kind of fit, but I usually try to avoid this style because I would rather have a high fit in the back and a low fit upfront. Is anyone else with me on this? If so, I decided to see what it would be like to wear this sweater backward and if it would satisfy my need for a reverse “hi-lo,” and it totally did. The only thing that bothered me when I wore the top this way was that the neck was a little higher. Since I have a rather short neck, it wasn’t the most flattering. But I loved the way the sweater fits lower in the front and higher in the back once I turned it backward. This plus size stripe sweater is extremely versatile and could be dressed up or down, which is perfect for the days where I have to make one outfit work for different occasions. But today, I paired the sweater with these Best Day of My Life Jeans.  I am always on the lookout for plus size gray skinny jeans because I feel like they look amazing on my curves and they also go with everything.

I know so many of you love Chic Soul just like I do, which is why I want to give you all a chance to win some $$ toward your next Chic Soul purchase! If you have Instagram, follow the rules below to enter! The winner will be chosen on Monday, November 20.

Plus Size Pleated Midi Skirt

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger Natalie in the City reviews Eloquii's faux leather pleated midi skirt.

Ever since I donated this pleated faux-leather skirt a couple of years ago, I have been craving a more sophisticated version of it. I found the skirt at a boutique in St. Petersberg, Florida in 2015, but faux leather is having a huge moment right now, which means that I can find this style just about anywhere today.

I happened upon this Faux Leather Trumpet skirt while getting my latest faux-leather fix at Eloquii. I loved that the skirt is pleated, but that the pleats are flattened at the top and then add volume toward the bottom. One of the biggest problems I had with my other pleated skirt was that the pleats started right at the waistband, hiding my figure and adding more volume to my hips. This faux-leather pleated midi skirt from Eloquii is also constructed beautifully with high-quality materials, and I love the way it moves with my body. I can envision dressing this up and down with button-up shirts or cozy sweaters, but for this look, I opted for a sophisticated, chic look with this Mixed Media Blouse. I fell in love with the black version of this top, but it sold out so quickly, so I decided to opt for the white. I am so happy with this decision though because the white has been a refreshing addition to my rather dark wardrobe. I’ve worn this blouse with my wide-leg satin pants from Universal Standard, and I have so many other looks in mind to pair it with.

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 18 in both the Faux Leather Trumpet skirt and the Mixed Media Blouse, which is my usual size, and both garments fit perfectly! The faux-leather skirt is stretchy in the waistband and the leather even has some stretch to it. The top is very much fitted and has a shorter fit than the typical blouse.

Faux Leather Plus Size Outfit

I haven’t written anything for my blog in a while because I have been busy traveling and working on side projects, but I am really looking forward to what’s coming for Natalie in the City. While I have been busy plotting my next move behind the scenes, I have also been trying to elevate my style game. Let’s keep it real, your girl loves some cozy yoga pants and sweatshirts—like a little too much. If I didn’t have a 9-to-5, my wardrobe wouldn’t be comprised of sweatpants.

But for some reason, I have had the urge to dress to the nines every day. Maybe it’s because it’s my birthday month and I am feeling particularly optimistic and confident. I have also been on the hunt for as much faux leather as I can get my hands on. So much so that this outfit is a head-to-toe faux leather look. I never ever thought I would be this obsessed with the material and texture of faux leather, but here we are. I got this whole look from Eloquii where I first fell in love with these Plus Size Coated Skinny Jeans. I came across the Flare Sleeve Tie Waist Faux Leather Top around the same time I found the jeans, and it hadn’t yet occurred to me that I could pair these together.  However, when I was trying on the clothes, I matched them together and decided it wasn’t bad. I wore this look out for a day to see if I felt confident and got any weird stares. Throughout the day, I got tons of compliments, and I must have felt confident because even after I got home, I didn’t want to take the look off. Aside from this outfit, I am so excited to see how else I can wear the Flare Sleeve Tie Waist Faux Leather Top. It’s such a striking and sexy piece. And of course, the jeans will go with anything! I topped off the look with Eloquii’s Wide Calf Knee-high Riko Boots.

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a size 18 in both the Plus Size Coated Skinny Jeans and the Flare Sleeve Tie Waist Faux Leather Top, which is my regular size, and both garments fit perfectly!
