I jetted over to Chop Shop in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood for Her Campus’ College Fashion Week show on Saturday night. Upon arriving to the butcher + deli + restaurant + bar, my first thought was that I put the wrong location into my Uber app. However, behind counters and refrigerators of butchered meat and a crowded bar, was a bright room and a handful of beautifully dressed girls.
It was the second College Fashion Week show that Her Campushas put on in Chicago. The first one was fun and exciting. But I knew this show was going to be one for the books as I slipped my VIP badge over my head and saw the runway crowded with some of my favorite brands. I walked away from the show coveting some goodies from these brands including a Fitbit Flex 2, a bottle of RiRi by Rihanna from Perfumania, a Rebecca Minkoff clutch, and more—can you say, “Score?!”
As a recent college graduate, I enjoy keeping up with trends that college girls are wearing and putting their own spin on, and this show certainly caught me up. I also got to interact face-to-face with some of my favorite brands before and after the show.
Something I particularly enjoyed was seeing every model sport the new Fitbit Flex 2 wristband or necklace. I was always trying to accessorize with my old Fitbit flex, and I am happy to see that the new Flex 2 has a slimmer wristband and gorgeous accessories to put the tracker in—and these models were working them all! Every look was also topped off with shoes from Vince Camuto and a variety of purses from Rebecca Minkoff—two lifestyle brands I love. Between the four shows, I got to chat with a rep. from Bertha Watches and I touched my hair up with Dry Bar’s 3-in-1 dry shampoo, texturizer, and hair amplifier.
All-in-all it was an action- and fashion-packed night, an another successful show for Her Campus! So will I see you at Her Campus’ College Fashion Week next year?
